Rules

 

  1. Fish must be taken legally by hook and line from the Province of NB waters.

  2. Fish angled in private or commercial fish ponds are not eligible.

  3. Only one person may hook and play the fish.

  4. We accept a measurement to the nearest inch/centimeter.

  5. If possible, send a full colour photograph of the fish and angler and the signature of a companion to verify the measurements.  For the record fish in any species, you must submit a side view photo of the fish with a measuring device or some object of standard size that can be used to verify the measurements of the fish such as the angling license.

  6. Entrants will, by entering the Master Angler Awards Program, give the NBWF and Master Angler consent to the use of their name and photo(s) submitted, including name and pictures of minors.

  7. Photographs become the property of NBWF and will not be returned.

  8. The NBWF will be the sole and final judge as to the acceptance of entries and reserves the right to request additional information or change requirements as necessary in the interest of the Master Angler Awards Program.

  9. Entrants who qualify for Record Fish of the Year will receive:  an 8" x 10" certificate suitable for framing, an embroidered Master Angler Award crest and an official NBWF Master Angler Award Cap.

  10. For non-qualifying Record Fish of the Year entries:  Youth entrants up to 16 years of age and Adult entrants who enter a released fish  will receive an embroidered Master Angler Award crest.

  11. There is a special category for fishing derbies.  The winner of each derby must have their name submitted by the derby organization verifying that they have won.  The winner will be sent an embroidered Master Angler Award crest.  To qualify for NB record fish, all foregoing rules apply.

  12. Entry form must be received by November 30th of applicable year.
